The Crossroads Of Fashion

When there is something popular, there will also be something unpopular. In fashion, we often join the bandwagon to look cool and to be in “trend”. What we don't notice is that, we are not being ourselves. You see, fashion is art, and art is a way to express ourselves. If we keep imitating or copying other people’s style, we will not be able to discover ourselves, and our own “style”.
We are often in a crossroad. Now, imagine yourself standing between two roads, the right is where most people go and it's extremely crowded, while the left road has barely people on it. Would you go to the right and follow most people? Or go to the deserted road in the left?
To be able to discover our style, we need to have an open mind, and courage to experiment. I have mentioned it a few times, but there is no other way than that.
HOW TO DISCOVER YOUR STYLE
Think outside the box. Smallworlds released a lot of clothes to help us find the right “fit” for us, not just to make it sit on stores. Make each item count, whether it's gold or tokens, popular or not, spin or not.
Who are you? When we try to discover ourselves, we first go to our likes, dislikes, and hobbies. What do you usually do? Which colors do you like? Do you like flowery things? Leather? Denim?
Match and mix. Do not be afraid to use and try on different colors, and do not be afraid to try on “foreign” clothes-- clothes that are not usually used by most.
Be yourself. Lastly, always be yourself. If you like your outfit, if the color makes you water, if the whole outfit makes you weak in the knees, then you LOVE it. Do not let others control you; do not CARE what they say. You are being you, OWN IT, and make every step you take a walk on a catwalk!
These are easy to say, yet hard to do. Sometimes, you may feel giving up, but that would also mean giving up on yourself. Do not be frightened to walk on the road alone. No one can discover anything but us. In the end, you will realize that it’s definitely worth it.
