Ah contest season... my favorite part of Smallworlds life. The dressing up, the entries, and the waiting make this time of year fantastic. Although nothing can live up to the most anticipated SWOscars, the SW staff did a fabulous job in making these awards a night to remember.

I was home sick from school the day of the awards, a coincidence really; so I spent an entire day in the award space. I got there about 2 pm SWT, three full hours before the winners were announced. The space was very well put together, I loved the record esque flooring. I jumped instances to speak with various people, and the spaces filled up as the time crept closer to 5 pm.

Then the moment came: I swapped instances and the creative little display board popped up (very innovative; thank you Smallworlds). I was standing wow, with two other winners at that moment and we all saw our names on the board. It's an exciting feeling to have your work appreciated by the Smallworlds staff and community; the creators and maintainers of this fine world. I feel motivated to bring even more creativity and joy to the players due to the win. Nevertheless, I congratulate all the other winners and everyone who participated! Each video had a different story, and I enjoyed watching each one of them.

The night wasn't over yet. Madison came to our instance! It was thrilling to see her, but I noticed that people just wanted a picture with her, which isn't really a bad thing. I ended up asking several questions pertaining to herself. I simply just wanted to get to know someone. I may or may not have ran into her at almost every instance in her 9pm appearance, rocking my colorful outfit and asking questions I hope she appreciated. Here's what we learned from her:

She likes musicals, Rom Coms, is not Dan's girlfriend (obviously because she's independent and powerful herself and doesn't need a man; sorry guys).

She confirmed that Chip and Cherry are on a VERY long holiday.

She also answered questions very generally; to act as unbiased as possible, which I appreciate, but I really wanted to get to know her! She seemed to like my ideas of a stage that's up for purchase and Vintage month, celebrating decades in the 20th century.

Anyways, it was a fabulous time. I'm grateful for the award and all the people who worked hard to organize the event. Keep up the good work Smallworlds!

Stay creative,

Eloise
